The Folklore Group of Fazendas de Almeirim is made up of members from various professions who come together with a love for dance and song to portray the rich and beautiful cultural landscape of the Fazendas de Almeirim region. Their attire recalls the peasant, Sunday best, and engagement costumes of the late 19th century. The authentic music of our ancestors was originally played on two harmoniums (now replaced by accordions), clarinet, medida, ferrinhos, and cana, with the last three being traditional regional handcrafted instruments.
